Alexandre Cipriani answers your questions:

1) What do you call "members / permanent owners"?

Members or permanent owners are users who are automatically added to the creation of a team using the SalesTim template. They have a permanent character because if a team owner removes that member or permanent owner, they will be added again. They are also retroactive if the owner or permanent member is changed at the template level, so this change will be reflected in all teams already created in connection with that template.

2) How do I have the homepage displayed in Teams?

To display the home page in Teams, simply go to the next page and download the app package titled “Home”. Then upload this application in Microsoft Teams and further implement the application to all the users or to a population of users using the functionality of the “Microsoft Teams App Policy.” You will find the documentation for Microsoft in the following link.
You then have 2 choices:

  • Add the home application in the policy already set by default to all users labeled "Global".
  • Define a new policy for the application in which you insert the home application. Then you assign this application strategy: either user by user or to a group of users by PowerShell scripting.

3) Who is responsible for the approval?

Any user of Microsoft Teams may be an approver. The administrator in the SalesTim application is the one who designates the approver by entering his/her last name and first name. It will then be sought in the corporate directory.

4) Is it possible for external users to have access to teams?

Yes, this is a configuration that can be activated at the level of the administration interface of Microsoft Teams. This allows you to activate it for the entire organization or not. Find out more about "Guest Access” in the Microsoft documentation.

At the team level, it is possible to obtain guest or external user invitation requests. Thus, "members" within the team will not be able to add another member, internal or external, without the administrator’s approval.

With the SalesTim solution, it is possible to address this issue at the template level. To do so, it is enough to create a team template where the requester is no longer the owner of the team once the team is created. This requester is then considered simply a member of the team and cannot add another person to the team without the approval of the administrator. In this case, this requester is now the service account for the SalesTim application to minima, and permanent owners, if they have been defined at the template level.

5) Where can I find the SalesTim application in Teams?

Today the application is not yet in Microsoft Teams Store applications, but it won’t be long before it does! In the meantime, you can download and install the application either by contacting us or by following the installation documentation.

6) Could we have access to the SalesTim documentation?

Find online all the documentation by going to this site: http://help.salestim.com.

7) What is the business solution’s economic template and what is the tariff offer?

It is a Freemium template.
You can install the application and use it for free with these features:
• Creation of the template catalog
• Naming Convention.

The template switches to SalesTim professional with the following features:
• Approval of creation
• Targeting of the audience
• Forced Privacy
• Members and permanent owners.

The price starts at 1 € per month per user. It is then decreasing according to the number of users and the time commitment. For example, for an annual commitment, the price is 0.9 € per user and per month.

8) 90cts per user (the same applies for the user who just connects to the team)?

Yes, this price relates to Microsoft Teams entire users. It is decreasing according to the number of users.

9) What do you base yourself on to calculate the number of SalesTim licenses?

The number of Microsoft Teams users.

10) Can you manage the granularity of permissions per channels rather than just per teams?

Today Microsoft Teams does not offer this option; However, in the next few weeks with the arrival of the functionality of the “private channels”, it will be possible to manage this granularity. As soon as this feature will be available via the Microsoft Teams APIs, we'll integrate it in the team’s templates.

11) The Teams templates are a feature that Microsoft will soon offer, right?

In fact, this question is legitimate, and we already asked ourselves the same question! When it comes to collaboration templates, you realize very quickly how important it is to easily create team templates from one firm to another, a business scenario to another, or from one sector of activity to another. This is the reason we have created our application: One that allows you to create Teams templates the simplest way possible.
Templates already exist in Microsoft; Nonetheless, only in a small number and with limited functionality. They are available at time of creation thru Microsoft Teams: REST API. These existing templates are rigid and do not allow modifications. Here is the Microsoft documentation on Teams templates.

12) Are SharePoint permissions inherited?

SharePoint permissions are inherited, and this behavior comes directly from the integration functionality between Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.

13) What are the technical prerequisites for the cohabitation to go well between this application and Teams, which is evolving all the time? What about your business solution with regards to Teams roadmap?

There are no technical prerequisites to have on the client side; The different developments of the SalesTim application are handled by our team. SalesTim professional team makes sure to follow all of Microsoft Teams developments in order to provide customers with the best possible user experience. SalesTim has a strong partnership with Microsoft, which enables access to a thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Teams roadmap with the set of features to come. This allows us to constantly scale the application according to Microsoft’s developments.

14) What kind of Reporting a “leader” team has on teams created off a template?

Today we are not offering an additional Reporting to Microsoft Teams current Reporting, but this is provided for in our roadmap. In that respect, you will have the option to obtain information on the activity at the team template’s level: number of active teams per template, number of active users per template, etc.

15) Is training required to use SalesTim?

From the end user’s point of view, no training is required for our application. We develop the application so that the experience is invisible to the end users. This is in order to enroll in the flow of daily work already existing. Just go to the home page, click on "New Team" and create a team based on a business solution proposed by the user.

From the Administrator’s point of view, short training is needed. It is also available in the MOOC Office 365 of Mandarine Academy free of charge. You can follow a few tutorials and immediately start using the applications. For advanced scenarios, find all the documentation online on this site: http://help.salestim.com.

16) Is the business solution available in multi-languages?

Today, the business solution is available in English and French; And soon, we will support new languages based on the needs of our customers.

17) If my template undergoes developments, how to implement these versions in the already created teams (based on templates from older versions)?

If the team’s template is subject to developments, for example: the creation of a new channel or tab - all the new teams created will consider this modification in real-time. There is no feedback in terms of channels or adding tabs to avoid losing users who previously created different teams.

There is a retroactive character on 2 features:
• Enforced Privacy: if at the template’s level, the confidentiality is amended from the public to private, at that time all the teams attached to this template will change in the level of confidentiality.
• The changes of owners / permanent members will impact also on the entire previously created teams.

18) Can we follow the roadmap of the product?

Yes, we will publish regular blog articles on the evolution of the product. In addition, in our documentation we publish all the changes of the application log.

19) How do you ensure that a team created off a template is somewhat locked to respect this template? Despite this, can we modify the team by adding more features and the margin?

Some scenarios may require doing so; We can ensure that the team created is locked by observing 2 steps:
• At the level of the team which serves as a reference: Uncheck the boxes in the team’s settings related to changing members.

• At the template’s level: to ensure that only the service account is the owner of the team, check the box at the template’s level in the Security tab: "Automatically add the requester as the owner of the team".

This way, only via the service account it will be possible to change this team.

20) How about a company that rarely uses Teams? Today, how can the uses trades be analyzed within its organization in order to create the templates with your business solution?

Beyond the uses of Teams, most of all it is based on already existing collaborative uses trades (Drafting of appeal of offer, opening of a store, recruitment, etc.). We have a scenario catalog that offers concrete examples seen on the field and that also proposes a variety of templates.

21) Can these templates be exported?

Not today, this feature is in the roadmap.

22) How can we obtain a demo?

Contact us on our site https://www.salestim.com.

23) During the demo, which version were you using? Microsoft Teams’ online version or the desktop application? In which Teams version, does the app work?

It is possible to use SalesTim as a Desktop and/or Web application. For the demo, both environments can be used.
